MOD Tax Rebate FAQs

If you work for the MOD you could be owed a tax rebate for the cost of travel from your home to base. The rules are not straightforward and not everyone is eligible to claim.

In a nutshell, if you are assigned to a work place for 24 months or less, you can typically claim tax relief on the cost of travel between your home and that workplace. The fact you may or may not have received duty mileage from the MOD will not stop you making a claim.
